Estimated
Unexplained Loss
Estimated Unexplained Loss (EUL) verifies counting accuracy and reported salmon escapes. If the EUL is greater than the combined margin of error (+ or – 2%) related to fish counts, auditors will investigate potential sources of error as it may indicate that mortalities and escapes have been under reported.
EUL will be calculated at the end of each production cycle following certification and reported for each of Tassal’s farming regions.
